3. Earning meaningful money from streaming royalties

Streaming alone is rarely enough to support an artist financially unless they have very large numbers. Instead, artists should think of streaming as the top of the funnel rather than the final product. Use your songs to attract fans, then offer them other ways to support you such as merch, vinyl, memberships, Patreon, tickets, livestreams, sync placements, songwriting services, teaching, workshops, or exclusive content. The more income streams you have, the less pressure you put on any one platform.
